Bezier Games resource management game Colony set for Essen
With names like Ted Alspach (“Suburbia” & “Castles of Mad King Ludwig”), Toryo Hojo (“Age of Craft” & “Age of Revive”) and Yoshihisa Nakatsu (also “Age of Revive”) involved, you know this has some heat behind it. Bezier Games is set to premier strategy game “Colony” at the Spiel fair in Essen, Germany this October.
Colony by Bezier Games – Releasing after Essen Spiel.
In Colony, each player constructs and upgrades buildings, while managing resources to grow their fledgling colony. In a clever twist, dice are used as resources, with each side/number representing a different resource. Some resources are stable, allowing them to be stored between turns, while others must be used right away. Buildings provide new capabilities, such as increased production, resource manipulation, and additional victory points. Using dice-as-resources facilitates a dynamic, ever-changing resources management mini-game while players work to earn victory points by adding building to their tableau on their way to victory.
Bezier Games do some good stuff, will this be one?
Alspach has also recently finished Bezier Games title “America”, made in collaboration with Friedemann Friese (“Power Grid” & “Terra”). “America” is due to launch at GenCon in August. You can pre-order that one at the Bezier Games website. “Colony” is due to hit retail post Essen.
