Tabletop Game News Roundup of the Week
This week at the site we reviewed “Nippon Rails“, we looked at the idea of injecting a little role-playing into your board gaming, Pandemic: The Cure got a quick TL;DR review and we looked at news of Dream Home from Asmodee.
Now onto the rest of the tabletop game news we didn’t cover in full this week.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Board Game coming October
That’s right Scoobies, Buffy is getting another board game, but this one might actually be okay. Jasco Games and Lynnvander Studios are presently working on “Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Board Game”. A 1-6 player game in which players take on the roles of Buffy and pals to protect Sunnydale. It’s set to release from the Hellmouth October 28.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Board Game, stake it to your diary.
Rivals of Catan Deluxe Edition for September
We heard about this one months ago, but now there’s concrete info, huzzah. Catan Studios is set to launch “Rivals of Catan Deluxe” edition in September. The deluxe version includes three expansions and promos, so if you love you some Catan, stick that in your diary too.
Shakespeare gets an expansion
If you’ve been playing a lot of Ystari Games’ “Shakespeare” – and why wouldn’t you, it’s really rather good – you’ll be thrilled to hear there’s a new expansion on the way, in the form of “Shakespeare: Backstage”. Here’s the official blurb: “In addition to new cast and crew, Backstage also introduces new objective cards, which have immediate effect prior to the ambiance phase. These may have effects such as moving forward one space on each act track or moving your ambiance token forward three spaces. With all of these new opportunities, your show is bound to be a hit. Now the only question is⦠is it a bigger hit than your opponents? Youâll have step out from Backstage and take in your standing ovation to find out!”.
Evil Dead 2 board game coming to Kickstarter
Who knows why it’s “Evil Dead 2” and not “Evil Dead”, but beggars can’t be choosers. Thanks to Space Goat Play you too can get your Bruce Campbell on and send the hellspawn back to the abyss. According to the developer the “Evil Dead 2 Board Game” is “a cooperative game with a twist: Players can turn evil and go after their former allies, who then have to decide to save their Deadite friends or put them down for good and carry on with the mission”. It launches on Kickstarter July 1. GROOVY!
Bah that’s it, this writer is late for game night.
