Tabletop Game News of the Week – Gameapalooza Round Up for 16 November through November 22, 2015

Modiphus announces “AirFix Battles: The Introductory Wargame”. This is a board game based introductory title featuring counters to represent guns, tanks, vehicles etc. Yeah, it’s called Airfix (featuring the official Airfix logo) and it features die cut counters, no models of any kind. NEXT!

Button Mash Games is working on an iPad version of “Forbidden Desert” by Matt Leacock. You may already know they worked on Forbidden Island also, that is already available on the app store.

Stronghold Games to release the English-language line of “Village” games from eggertspiele. First released in 2011, it will see a US street release in March next year. The base game “Village” releases March and expansions “Villages Inn” and “Village Port” release in March and May respectively. A stand alone dice game titled “My Village” will release in May also.

A little awesome history. Archaeologists have found a 14-sided die and game components in a 2,300 year old tomb. The die – made from animal tooth – is particularly cool, a 14 sided die, but with only numbers 1-6 inscribed on it. You can check it out at the Live Science page, along with other images.

Wizard World is launching Wizard World Gaming Atlanta in January and they’re adding tabletop and video game content. The con runs from January 22-24 at the Georgia World Congress Centre in Atlanta, GA. You can check out more info at the Wizard World website.

“Games Magazine” (now “Games World of Puzzles”) has announced its picks for best new games in its latest issue ( time frame for games eligible between August 2014 and August 2015). Here’s the upshot: Best Traditional Game: “Castles of Mad King Ludwig”, Best Family Game: “Sheriff of Nottingham”, Best Abstract: “Gravity Maze”, Best Card Game: “Sushi Go! (really?) and lastly Best Strategy: “Extra! Extra!”.

Aussie’s Rule & Make have their latest project “Burger Up” on Kickstarter at the moment and who doesn’t love making burgers! Fill orders, earn prestige and be the best burger chef around!
