Game of Thrones Risk is finally here!
If a board game release is getting coverage on none other than the Wall Street Journal we’re guessing that’s a pretty big deal. “Game of Thrones” is – without a doubt – one of the most popular TV series of the past 20 years. It’s of little surprise the merchandising machine has whirred away on pretty much everything, including tabletop games.
The latest release comes to us in the form of “Game of Thrones: Risk” and the WSJ has it covered.
In the Risk: Game of Thrones Edition Game, created by USAopoly under license from Hasbro and in partnership with HBO, players will vie for control of the Seven Kingdoms and the Iron Throne.
The game has more than 650 pieces, including two custom game boards, seven sculpted armies, seven player boards and 28 character cards. With three ways to play, this edition of Risk is for 2-7 players, ages 18 and older, with a suggested retail price of $74.95. It will go on sale in August.
Players can choose one of seven Noble House armies, with each army composed of 45 pieces for a total of 315 game pieces. There are two different designs representing 1-unit army and 3-unit army, and one Seat of Power design.
Game of Thrones Risk play pieces, who cares, you’re gonna die anyway… are we riiiight?
There are so many versions of Risk now, but this is a welcome addition. Rather than us regurgitating the same information as the WSJ, head on over there to get more detail than you need.
