Karuba The Card Game and Karuba Junior coming soon from HABA:
Fantastic little tile laying game Karuba is getting not one, but two spinoffs. First up we've got Karuba: The Card Game. As in the original Karuba game, players will guide their adventurers through the jungle to win.
Each turn in Karuba: Das Kartenspiel, you carefully select two path cards from your hand to try to outwit the other players. Whoever has the lowest sum loses a card, then all players use their cards to create a network of pathways to connect their adventurers with the temples. Who will best guide their adventurers through the jungle? In the end, the player who collects the most points with valuable treasure and temples wins.
Next up we've got Karuba Junior, a scaled back version of Karuba for younger players. As in Karuba players will turn over tiles to build paths, whilst trying to get to the treasure. This time though players work cooperatively to outwit the mean pirates who are also after the treasure.
Karuba Junior is a cooperative tile-placement adventure game in which players search for treasures in the jungle on the island of Karuba with three brave adventurers. Will you manage to place the path tiles so that you reach all the treasures before the mean pirates raid the island? You need to work together and be careful of tigers that block the paths. With skill and a bit of luck, you'll be faster than the pirates!
We're big fans of Karuba, so we're really interested in seeing how these two play out. We're sure our resident kid reviewer Mister Jaxon will enjoy Karuba Junior when it's release and we're pretty sure we'll enjoy the card game. Time will tell. Both titles are set for a release before the end of the year.
