Splendor tabletop game coming to iOS

Ahh “Splendor” a favorite of some at Gameapalooza Towers and now it’s coming to a mobile device near you. Days of Wonder working in tandem with Space Cowboys are giving the hit boardgame a digital makeover for iOS, Android and Steam. The digital version is said to be a “faithful adaptation of the original board game, which sold over 200,000 copies worldwide”.

First released as a physical board game in 2014 by Space Cowboys, SPLENDOR- designed by Marc André and illustrated by Pascal Quidalt – is a global success with over 200,000 copies sold in no less than 30 countries. SPLENDOR won numerous awards such as the prestigious 2014 Golden Geek “Board Game and Family Game of the Year” award from Board Game Geek, the Best Board Game 2014 from the UK Game Expo and nominations for the German Spiel des Jahres and the French As d'Or.

For those who aren’t familiar with it, “Splendor” is a multiplayer resource management game that sees players assuming the roles of wealthy Renaissance merchants, exploiting mines and caravans, hiring craftsmen and leveraging their influence with the nobility. The goal is to get the biggest booty to become the most popular merchant. The player with the most prestige points wins the game!
