Ticket to Ride: Germany from Days of Wonder
Heads up Ticket to Ride fans, you're off to Germany! Yes Days of Wonder has announced Ticket to Ride: Germany, which will release in Europe in June and at Gen Con this year in the US (that's around August for the Gen Can't crowd).
Turn of the century Germany… Through a fine autumn rain, a plume of smoke announces the arrival of the 4:15 train from Nuremberg in the Munich Central Station. The din of the massive engine grows more intense, culminating with a prolonged hiss as the locomotive halts at the platform, steam erupting in every direction. Already, porters in livery are rushing to unload baggage as passengers step from their cars. On the opposite platform, an operator pulls the cord for a three-chime whistle and another train begins chugging toward its next destination: Berlin, capital of the German empire…
Ticket to Ride: Germany is more of the same, but if it ain't broke, why fix it. Players will still build their own rail networks, but in the late 19th century. The rail routes are those previously seen in the Märklin Edition. There's also a passenger collection element with players collecting valuable Passenger Meeples from the cities faster than their opponents.
Ticket to Ride: Germany is a complete board game for 2-5 players and features a map of Germany, 225 colored Train Cars, 110 Train Car Cards, 89 Destination Tickets Cards, 60 Passenger Meeples, 1 Cloth Bag, 5 Scoring Markers, 1 Rules Booklet and a special Globetrotter Bonus Card. It is expected to be available in June in Europe and at the Gen Con in August for the US, at a suggested retail price of €44/$50.
