Camel Up board game TL;DR review

“Camel Up” (also known as “Camel Cup” due to the confusing typeface on the box) is a racing game in which the players race and bet on camel races. Camel Up won the 2014 Spiel des Jahres – Game of the Year Awards – and with good reason, it is a great, easy to learn, simple to play family game.

The neat twist in Camel Up is that the camels in the race don’t race beside one another, but instead land on top of other camels in certain circumstances, thus changing movement mechanics. It's all about watching, seeing where the camels are and betting on the right ones, for both wins and losses.

Everything about “Camel Up” screams fun. The build quality is pretty great too, other than the silly / gimmick of a cardboard pyramid dice roller (which is still cool to look at). If you’re looking for a fun family game that can also be enjoyed by gamers, check out Camel Up, it’s a lot of fun.
