Googly Eyes board game a TL;DR Review

Googly Eyes TLDR game review

You know we like our heavier tabletop games here at Gameapalooza, but our readership is mixed and that means Ameritrash and party game reviews are also needed. Enter Googly Eyes by Goliath Games. If you've been to the board game area in any Australian department stores (Target, Kmart etc.) you've probably seen Googly Eyes, because this is a huge seller and it stands out from the shelf due to the huge glasses in / on the box.

Googly Eyes board game review by Gamepalooza Australia for tabletop game news and reviews

Googly Eyes a family party game for 4-16 players (yes 16!) ages 7+. The overall premise of the game is simple, players (or teams of players) take alternate turns moving on a board, landing on a color, selecting a card (each with 3 things listed) and drawing a particular item, thing, place. So the party game catch? You do it whilst wearing Googly Eyes glasses with distortion lenses and lenses of different colors. A timer comes with the game and is set at the beginning of the round. Players try and guess the image correctly before the timer runs out. That's pretty much it.

If you're looking for a fun family / party game for younger players, or indeed a game that no doubt becomes more and more ridiculous the more craft beer you consume during play, you could do worse than Googly Eyes and it retails for a mere $30 AUD. Not for us personally, but if you've got kids, well $30 isn't a lot.
