Five Tribes board game TL;DR Review
Five Tribes is an area control / set collection game from well known tabletop game designer Bruno Cathala. Five Tribes uses a mancala movement system in which players take it in turns to pick up all the meeples from one tile location and moving them.
The overall premise is to gain control of the ancient land of Naqala. With the old sultan dying, someone new needs to take leadership, reuniting the five tribes (the elders, builders, merchants, assassin’s and viziers) and it might as well be you.
Overall though this is an easy game to learn, it's difficult to master. Five Tribes is fun and about the only downside to it is that dreaded AP (analysis paralysis), wherein certain players will take an age to take their turns.
As this is a Days of Wonder game, Five Tribes is amazing quality. Quality tiles, beautiful artwork, well made meeples, good card stock, nice insert, it’s all here. Five Tribes is a game deserving of being on your game shelf. Buy it.
