Route 666 now Hit Z Road

Name change alert. Martin Wallace’s upcoming zombie road trip title “Route 666” has undergone a name change, becoming “Hit Z Road”. There’s no word on why the name change.

We might surmise it has something to the original demonic sounding name perhaps not being welcomed by a certain board gaming demographic, though that’s purely conjecture.

Part survival game, part horror story, Route 666 boasts tension and irony in equal measure. You set off on a road trip to L.A., only to find yourself caught in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. But that won’t ruin your vacation!

As we stated when we initially covered “Route 666” back in April, we think this looks interesting. As the name change goes it makes little difference, though we preferred the first offering of “Route 666” for its inherent humor and also the intrinsic nature of Route 66 with road trips.

Whatever the case, this one is still slated to be on show at Gen-Con this year.
